Miller High Life commercial gets it right

(update: Unfortunately, Miller has decided to discontinue this campaign as of last April. Bummer.)

This is one of the greatest commercials ever. (streaming Quicktime)

Script (voiceover and a guy riding a cruiser down a snowy street):

That's the way patriot; let the OPECs keep their gasoline.
We'll just tap into a far more efficient energy source....man power.
If we all learn to pull our weight, nobody, nobody, will be able to siphon away...our High Life.
Now that's some mainstream exposure you've gotta love.

(hat tip to Brady Clark from the Shift email list)

This commercial gives me chills... not only does it say wonderful things about the bicycle, the guy riding the bike looks like someone who once whipped a beer can at me out'n his pick-'em-up truck.

This may do more to endear rednecks to cycling than anything the industry could ever produce. The commercial lives on Errol Morris' website, so I assume he made it? He's a true hero, like Michael Moore but without the bombast, distortion and self-promotion...

On the one hand, I'm disappointed he's making commercials. On the other hand, he made THIS one!

I agree with you. I can't believe the Miller execs. decided to end this campaign. Hopefully Errol Morris gets another high-profile commercial gig.
