In the latest example of the mainstream media looking silly while trying to cover cycling, the NY Times pulls out this dorky photo from the Corbis archives to accompany their story on (and here's the irony) how cyclists are using new tech gadgets. You've got to love the helmet cover, LeMond-era aero bars, and downtube shifters. I'd say this bike is early-mid '90s at the latest!
TVGuide recently had a cover showing all of Lance's TdF victories, one problem though. One of the years (I forget which one, and I don't have the magazine with me now) showed Lance in the yellow jersey of the Dauphine Libre. You could tell because the yellow jersey sponsor was Credit Agricole.
Same thing, some graphic designer that knows nothing of the sport sees a picture of Lance in yellow and assumes that it's the Tour.
